hi i have a problem with my dishwasher. i put it on for a cycle but it continues to run for a long time but the water never heats up, when i switch it off and open the door water remains on the bottom of the machine. its a beko machine but i dont know how old as it was in the house when we moved in 6 months ago.

Sounds like the heating element or circuit. Water not reaching sufficient temperature to allow the cycle to proceed.

Yep probably the heater. It could be the contacts on the controller for the heater, but that is less likely.

    If rented, talk to landlord.

I had dishwashers for years that didn't work and broke dishes. Then a friend gave us money for a machine.

The Children were delighted and dish/mug breaking stopped.

With the price of electricity, we might have to go back to that type of dishwasher again.

It's more of an issue than CFL vs filament/halogen bulbs. Unless you forget to turn off the immersion.

If there is a warranty on the dishwasher you'd definitely lose it doing that yourself.

    Best go with a pro.

    no warranty on the machine

Unless you're good with DIY Mechanics and Electrics, and are confident about diagnosing the problem for definite, I'd let the pro's do it. You could well end up having the same problem having "fixed" the machine! You might even cause other complications as you undertake the surgery!!

This happens to me sometimes. If you take her out for dinner once every few months, it seems to fix that problem.
More serious faults can often be fixed with jewellry or flowers.
