New to this forum but anyways. Was playing a bit of God of War II on the PS3 last night and it is one of the best games i've ever played. I think it is miles better than anything Ninja Gaiden can produce. Story, gameplay, graphics are all spot on. I'm so pumped for God of War III. Even though the original desingers Jaffe and Barlog are now gone I still have faith in Santa Monica studios that they can make another epic game.

Thought the story in GoW2 was the only let down, it was absolute nonsense. It was however a brilliant game. I wouldn't compare it to Ninja Gaiden though, both very different games. GoW is a real button masher with little technique to it while Ninja Gaiden requires a lot more skill and is a far more trechnical game to play.

Really, I though the story in God of War II was excellent not as good as the first one but still excellent. If anything the story in the Ninja Gaiden series are retared to say the least. I think all in all the God of War series is superior to the Ninja Gaiden series.

How can anyone think that the stroy in GOW 1 (Ive only played this one) was good.

It is just something to space out the excellent (although a little repetitive gameplay)

for an ACT aspect,Gow did a great job in the first one.story wise, top graphic, very smart playing system - the god mode was such a legend IMO,havent tried any decent ACT that good in ages.gow2 was a big let down, mainly due to they want it releases asap before ps3 comes out, rushing out to market,it could be better - lack of new elements greatly disappointed me,the story is pretty sh!te too tbh lol.

If gow3 dont come out something new to shine me eyes ,i wont bother at all.gow1 was really shiny at that time:pac:

Have to completely disagree that GoW 1 is better than GoW 2. I think GoW 1 only wins out in the story department because the story of GoW 2 was utter ballox. GoW 1's gameplay was practically perfect to begin with and all the game was missing was a few more boss battles. GoW 2 fixed that with some of the best boss battles I've played in a long time.

The story in GoW 1 wasn't the best either but at least it made a bit of sense and Kratos had a reason to be the angry bastard he was. In GoW 2 he was a dreadful character, like some kind of spoiled rotten roid head. He just came across as a complete asshole with no reason to be that way.

The story of ninja gaiden was indeed complete balls but with these types of games who cares when it gives you an excuse to lob off limbs in the coolest ways possible.

There is no God of War game for the PS3 yet. God of War 3 was only officially announced at E3 this year with a pre-rendered trailer.

IMO GOW2 surpasses GOW1 in gameplay and visuals, however, GOW1 will still remain my favourite as it was the one the made my jaw drop. In GOW2, though it was even bigger, I was expecting that.

I can only hope that GOW3 completely dwarfs both, in scale and fun.

I played the first one and it was alright. I never finished it. I got stuck late on at a place where you had to kill a certain number of enemies in a time limit or the floor caved in. Just got sick of it as there was very few bosses.

The 2nd one then came out at a time when i wasn't playing much else. Got it and finished it and really enjoyed it even though at times there was some frustrating bits. That is just what the genre is like though! I agree with someone saying above that the 2nd one had better boss fights. Story wise, both were ok, both of them were not very interesting in my opinion.

I might get the 3rd, depends again on if im flooded with games to play. At the moment it would have no chance seeing as i have about 3 games on the go with 5 or 6 to even play yet!

Too bad you're not consistent in this opinion, eh? See PoP thread ;)

PoP can be forgiven for the crap combat because the platforming is so good, it's more of a platformer than an action game.

Ninja Gaiden and GoW are pure action games with platforming thrown in but the game never concentrates on platforming but instead on the combat system.

Well yes but my point was more to do with your comment on the story being irrelevant if the gameplay is good. Kind of flies in the face of your reasons for preferring SoT to WW in another thread. Anyway, off topic. Just having a jab at you ;)
