this was out couple of months ago, but its still very interesting.

Interesting demo on the Lyrtech GSM Femto Base Station using SFF SDR Board. It shows establishing a connection with the BTS from a normal mobile phone, calling another phone in the same network, sending SMS and so on. Check it out

pretty impressive..its known this was possible for some time even though some "know it alls" dismissed it, here is the proof!

we know already for years GSM crypto can be cracked in 30 seconds, but i think this MITM attack would be easier to implement.
