I was wondering if any one had participated in any of the programmes there and what the cost of IP treatment is. I can't seem to find the information on their website. Thanks for any information

There are different things called "IP treatment" for things from cancer to eating disorders. Which are you looking for?

I imagine any hospital treatment depends on what is needed in the particular case.

The best advice you can get are from your doctors and the hospital itself.

I don't know, but is such treatment covered publicly or by health insurance?

st patrick's is a private psychiatric hospital, the cost of treatment isn't listed on their website, that's why i was wondering if anyone had been and so known about the cost.

I'd suggest calling them and finding out. Far more accurate and faster then using an internet firum.

St. Patrick's is a private hospital. The VHI will pay for 180 days per year inpatient treatment unless it's for the addiction program in which case it is 180 days in 5 years.
As far as I know, the actual cost of a stay in Pats is very vaguely around 1000 per week. This covers the cost of any inpatient programs.

Aye, agreed. Or even a quick email if you are to nervous/anxious to speak to someone.

It isactually about €6,800 to over €7,000 every two weeks depending on whether you are in ICU or other areas. If you speak to the accounts department through the switch they will happily tell you more. It accepts all health insurers and it varies with each the length of stay covered and procedures ie. EEG / MRI but that will all be discussed during admission. It also hasa waiting list usually so if you need admission and have not been an inpatient before you need to get yourself referred by your GP, if you have been an inpatient you can follow up with the secretary of treating team or in emergencies Psych Reg on call again through the switch and Nursing Admin!

    Hope this helps!
    Best of Luck
