    The Viper has a better spec, is 24 speed against 21 speed, looks better IMHO and has a review from someone who liked it, so I'd go for that one. Bear in mind you may have to do a bit of assembly buying a bike from CRC.

    thats cool,thanksfor the advice,i have plenty of time to spend putting it together and finetuning it anyway so it shouldnt be a problem if its delivered in a flat pack box

    mostly using it to travel in and out of town,although i prefer mountain bikes to racer style

    id say about 10-20 km a week

    not much more than that usually

    I'd consider a hybrid without front suspension so, no real point in getting a mountain bike for that use.

    Agree with Blorg, no need at all for a suspension. The lighter the bike the more you'll enjoy owning and cycling it.
