Which of these tellys?

    Hi folks

Looking for a good 32" telly but I'm trying to budget to around the €500 or below mark. Don't know how good I'm going to get for that price though..

There's a few on Pixmania for around that price:
    http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/59/xx/300-550/8/3/criteresn_BA00001596-BV00102415.html

Anyone any experience with the ones in the above link or could suggest an alternative? Also any things to say about Pixmania for tellys (good/bad)?

I'd be wanting to connect my NTL digital box (SCART), DVD player (SCART) and Wii (composite) to it. At the moment I've a 20" CRT telly with only one SCART connection on it and have to keep swapping cables...

Also, will I notice a very crappy picture from the NTL at the resolution the telly will be using? There's a guy in work looking to sell an upscaling DVD player with a HDMI connector for relatively cheap at the moment so I told him I'd take it off his hands if I got a new telly.

I've really no interest in getting the "best" picture quality and won't be using anything that's full HD, just want a decent big telly for my room that's watchable.

    Cheers

    Hi Steve,
I don't know how strict you are with size and budget but you should consider getting a 37" Panasonic plasma, picture quality would be brilliant with NTL and DVD and Wii, much, much better than any that you have short listed. Have a look at the richersounds commercial interaction forum and make contact with johnmc, he might be able to source you a 37PV70 (last years model) or a 37PV80 (latest model) for not much more than your budget of 500 euro. they deliver TVs for 25 euro which is exceptional value. How much do Pixmania charge for delivery? Good luck and please don't do anything daft before checking out Richersounds. PS Haggle haggle haggle

    Thanks for the info Tattosnob.

I think though I've pretty much decided on a 32" because of limited space in my room.

I forgot to mention also that I'll be connecting a hard drive with SCART out to the telly so I think anything bigger than a 32" will make DivX movies look terrible...

    So I'll need 2xSCART (HDD & NTL), 1xcomposite/component (Wii) & 1xHDMI (upscaling DVD player)

I've kind of got it narrowed down to this LG:
http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/931137/art/lg/32lc42-lcd-television.html (possibly not enough inputs) for €449

    OR

    This Toshiba:
    http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/1394404/art/toshiba/32c3530dg-regza-32-lcd-te.html for €508

I'm not sure how much Pixmania charges for delivery. The site says from around €15.90 to €16.90 but I presume those are the longest options. I'd really want one where I could know what date it'd be delivered on and work from home that day.

As I say, really not worried about picture quality (within reason), just want something to plug everything into and kick back.

If anyone has experience with either of those two tellys and/or Pixmania it'd be much appreciated.

Thinking of ordering one on Monday morning.

    Hi,
Your mind seems made up but a 37" is only about 12cm wider than a 32". Personally I wouldn't go with either of the TV's you selected or deal with pixmania for a TV but it's your money.........you should reconsider as I know that you could kick back and enjoy the Panasonic so much more.
Good luck with whatever you purchase.
