We're a Dublin-based 4 piece and we're looking for someone creative who can add melodic guitar lines and who can generally help bring songs alive. Would be cool if you could also play bass (as our double bass player sometimes switches to violin) - and if you could play any other instruments / vocal ability that would be a real bonus (but not a necessity).

We'd also like to hear from anyone who plays brass or anything a little different who might want to take part - maybe on a more part-time basis.

We play original material, there's a few songwriters in the band and most of us play a few instruments. We're currently 2 blokes and 2 ladies and age-wise we're 23-31. We're based in Dublin and rehearse once/twice a week in a dedicated rehearsal space in central dublin.

We're all into a lot of different music but soundwise i suppose we play elements of powerpop / indie pop-rock and chamber pop (violin, double bass and piano feature in most of the songs). Some bands we're currently listening to - fleet foxes, badly drawn boy, deus, velvet underground, harry nillson, pavement, stereolab, broken social scene, the cardigans, devotchka, kronos quartet, radiohead.

Some very rough rehearsal demos (mostly acoustic versions) -

Commitment and enthusiasm are needed - we have lots of good songs ready to go and have some studio-time lined-up. If interested please mail reply below or mail thecrayonsetatgmaildotcom (with punctuation). Please give details of what you play, bands you like and any links to previous bands etc

    Thanks
