Satellite Signal coming & going

    Hi all,

I have a Sky system set up to get free to air channels (not paying any subscription) - it has worked fine for over a year but in the last few days has started to give me grief.

It works fine one minute and then gone - the signal strenght goes to zero - yet it still has enough of a signal to let me view the "whats on" screen. It could be gone for a second or an hour or longer.

Weekend coming up, so any help appreciated.

Could be your dish? Wind may have moved it slightly. May need slight tweaking to get it back to normal service.
Had the same problem and engineer did it in 5 minutes.

It could also be a faulty box, cable, LNB or the dish could be misaligned dish as Homer said.

Or has a nice tree grown in front of the dish obsctructing its view of the sky?

Have the same problem now myself. Every now and again the signal goes completely and comes back to the previous level after an hour or sometimes after a day. Checked the connections both ends, replaced box with one i know works fine and checked to make sure the dish has not come loose. No trees are blocking the signal so all i can think of is the lnb has gone faulty. Would this be a common problem ie. going on and going off?

My sky has gone now altogether. Tried changing the lnb but no luck , still no signal. Would a rusty dish cause the signal to come and go and then eventually go altogether?

Sounds like the current storm has knocked your dish off alignment
