Not an NTL customer - what about their equipment?

Hi there, I've been disconnected (happily) from NTL for over 2 years now. Their equipment is still on my roof.

What I want to do is disconnect the cables outside, removing the caps, so I can rewire my own internal TV system with the drop cables that were in the house when the house was built. Essentially, where I had 4 cables coming in from the trap outside, I want to patch these into a media patch panel that I've built in the attic.

Is there an issue with this? I'm happy to post NTL back their bits and pieces.

I've mailed them with this question, but I suspect I'd be sporting a death certificate by the time I got a response.

It's a cable area. We had NTL/UPC cable connected when we moved in here 4 or so years ago, but I requested a disconnection as I hooked up my own FreeSat from Sky equipment.

I know want to take 4 cables from the LMB into a patch panel in the attic and route it through the house to do this, I need to cut the cable locks from the outside and pull the cable internally to reconnect it as part of an internal-only system.

I could just route my own cable I guess, but I want to remove the messy cabling on the gutter and thought I'd recycle as I went.

ntl techs get paid to collect old equipment just phone up and say the box is here to collect if you dont collect it i will bin it ,just speak politely.
You can reuse the cables if you want, They will not take cables down unless you tell them . So do want you were going to do and enjoy your new system .Ntl /upc wont care about any cables on the side of your house and it looks like they dont even care about the box.

My friend works for them in the SE.
I can get him to call around and take it away if suits you (and him).
