Nokia 5300 Problem

Hi, my cousins Nokia 5300 got damp there at the weekend, we dried it out, now today, we tried turning it on, it works, but theres a problem. It turns on, we can enter the pin, but when we press ok, nothing happens. All the buttons beep, but theres no response. None of the top 5 buttons work(they beep however), power button works grand. I can't figure it out, I've had many phones myself that have got drowned, and they still work.
Can anyone advise me what to do, I'm really lost.
    Thanks in advance,
    Patrick

Phone is damaged by water. Just buy a new one. You will continuue to have random problems if you even manage to sort this one.

Its just new, its his first phone(he's 11), is there any way to get it working what-so-ever(for free)?

Put it in the hotpress for a week. It may or may not work. Otherwise see if someone on Adverts or something is giving away an old phone.

Sorry, but this is my experience with phones damaged by water.
