Got a 360 and set up a live account and when I went to play the ps3 online it would connect to the PSN but wouldn't find a game in COD4 and was taking ages to search and connect to games in PES.

I have the PS3 wireless and the xbox wired and the ps3 was working perfectly before I set up the xbox. the xbox doesn't seem to have the same problem but i only played a few minutes online so it might be the same. is there some settings i need to change on the broadband or has anyone had the same problem?

have eircom with standard router and have the ports everyone suggests open for ps3 but have no settings for xbox.

Could the xBox be taking up the internet?! Is there other laptops/computers running off the wireless?!....it could be taking from the signal strength!

If you are using DHCP, maybe the XBox got assigned the IP address the PS3 used to have - this would break all your NAT rules you had previously set up.

Check the router, and have a look at the DHCP Client list (where that will be depends on your router) - see what IP each console has been assigned, and make sure the ports you opened are still linked to the correct IP.

To prevent the problem happening again, make sure you assign static IP addresses to the consoles - that way they won't change depending on what the router decides.

the signal strength is still 100. the ip address thing sounds more likely. i'll try that.
