Nuvi 250 in US

I have a 250 purchased in Ireland with the standard 2008 maps. I'm going to Florida on holiday soon and was wondering if I can get US maps. I looked on the Garmin site and see that there're available to buy on a preloaded data card for $99. Is this the only option?

Yes, there isn't enough room in the internal memory to store another region so the only option is to buy the maps on an SD card.
