Create little application stumbleupon churned out. Currently its in beta and only offers 1GB of storage but still its pretty handy and puts a hard drive link in "My Computer"

Will be very handy for myself when I just want to be able to access some files in work from my home pc.

eh.. seems like a rip off/copy of dropbox..

I'd say dropbox is a ripoff of opendrive, as dropbox is still in private beta whereas opendrive is already in public beta. Plus opendrive is by the same people who developed "boxstr.com" which has been going for ages.

Either way the competition is good, it will mean more free storage space for all of us :D

EDIT: It's weird the way both dropbox and opendrive both use the same platypus image when showing how their systems automatically sync with changes you make locally

And both are rip offs of products that have been out years. Pick one and get over it, tbh.

there's been several incarnations of this kind of thing using your available space in gmail.

but i suppose if this is dedicated it might be faster than those.

yeah I've used the gmail ones before but I'd heard they wheren't reliable as Google would just empty your account if it found you where using your mail account for file storage.

I just like the interface of this new one, meaning I can just drag and drop pictures and music into my opendrive, access them from any other PC and then send a link to others if I want them to download the files. It just seems a lot simpler and more intuitive than any other service I've used before.

I just hope the 1GB cap is only for the beta and will increase once it gets released.
