Athlone Town Vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

A couple from our friendly against Brighton last week in the torrential rain. I supplied shots to a UK paper, so it was my first proper paying assignment!

Made the mistake of using 1.4xTC when I really shouldn't have. Wasn't too happy with them at first as they looked very dark, but they're growing on me. I was probably more annoyed with myself than anything else.

I was supplying them to a daily paper, so I had to do the cropping/captions during the game which I actually dealt with OK. I got most of the targets they wanted, except manager Mickey Adams. Turned out it was their assistant who was on the line all night.

So just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their advice and stuff the past few months!

Thanks Buzz. Myself and the camera were both well wrapped up!

I was using my 70-200 with a 1.4x extender attached Ricky.

Thanks AR, #1 is probably my favourite too. Looks great full size, especially with the rain.

Hawkins signed for them a month or two back Dodgykeeper. Cheers for the comments.

Congrats on the gig whyulittle , #1 is an excellent shot and they are all good pics.

You will probably find as you go along that you are your biggest critic so it's probably best not to over analyse pics like you mentioned. Learn from any mistakes but don't beat yourself up if you're getting quality pics like these.

Some really good photos there. Twice as nice when it's a paid job and you get them in print.

The rain just adds to the images, in many cases, and once you're wrapped up it's not that bad.

    Jaysus! It's like November!
I really like the first one.
Shame the conditions were so bad.

Last night in Dalymount, the floodlights were on for the full game, and it was damn cold. I was using ISO 1600 for most of the game. That's the coldest and darkest summer night I've seen in a long time.

At least you expect that weather in the winter.

I've got a game on Sunday at 15:00 so I'm hoping for decent light.

Nice pics whyulittle, I saw them on Flickr when you uploaded them and the first was the most noticeable.

I too have a game on Sunday at 15:00, trip to Wexford Youths tomorrow night and hurling qualifiers Saturday.

Was thinking of the Hurling myself, Ken.
    Might give you a shout.
    Depending on my circumstances.

Nice one, I might stay for the 2 games because I'd say the Cork vs Galway game will be interesting.
