Help with American Clothes Size?

My daughter wants to buy some clothes online from americaneagle.com, she is worried about the sizes.

If she takes a size 10-12 here what should she aim for onsite?

Also, what's the story with paying VAT here - how is this calculated and paid, not looking to avoid it just want to calculate the real price and understand the process.

    Thanks in advance,
    Phog.

This might help, basically, subtract 2 from her Irish size gives the US size.

VAT and import duty may be required, depends on the shipping agent and the value. When coming through An Post, generally anything under about €40 is ignored (though officially the limit is actually €22). VAT on clothing is 21% I believe, though it could possibly be the lower rate of 13.5%. Duty will vary, but 10% is a good guess. In general, add 30% to the price you pay to determine roughly what you'll have to pay, should you get a bill at all.
