Powercity.ie are offering good online prices on Dyson Vacuums at the moment.
I picked a DC19 Animal model in store (but bought on line) for €248 which is priced at € 348 , its mrrp is € 360 according to the dyson website

    http://www.dyson.ie/range/range_overview.asp?model=DC19&sinavtype=pagelink

DID.ie are asking for €348 on their web site!

BTW yes there are other cheaper vacuum's BUT I like Dysons:D

    Hi,

went onto Dyson and found that I also 'needed' a DC19 Animal, but when I went here... http://www.powercity.ie/?par=40-50-DC19I I cant see it? is it the DC19I ??

    Cheers

This is the one I got
    http://www.powercity.ie/?par=40-50-19ANI

When you are in the Vacuum section,
select DYSON as the brand which then lists only dysons
you need to select a vacuum to see the discounted price.

I believe that is a dyson promotion, HarvNorm have the same deal. I think dyson control the prices for most shops.;)

The €249 vacuum in Harvey Norman is the asthma model not the animal version going by their euro deals catalogue. They look the same but the animal one comes with a turbine head which ,from my limited testing so far, is great at removing hairs etc.

I hope the GF does not see this.

Dont mind what HN catalogue tells you, they are terrible at that, they always have price and product corrections at the tills, the catalogue is always full of errors :D

Man, that sucks, dysons are cool, 13 for 25

Dysons should never be in the bargain section, they are overpriced rubbish. If they were giving them away i wouldn't bother.

I'd have to completely disagree with you padi, we have a DC20 animal http://www.dyson.ie/range/feature_frame.asp?model=DC20-STOW-ANIMAL to go along with our 2 very hairy dogs and it does a fantastic job of getting rid of every bit of dust and hair from the carpets and furniture. Previously we used a Nilfisk but there's no competition between the 2.
And they aint that expensive considering we also availed of a similar deal when we got ours last year.

I saw a poster in Harvey Norms about a €100 trade-in, not sure if that's still running or if this is a new offer. I agree with Padi though, Dyson are a total rip-off anyway, hugely over priced for what's basically a vacuum cleaner. These promotions are the beginning of a long term price drop for Dyson, they can't keep the prices so high for much longer.

You can't beat the Goblin Topo for value and performance for €40: http://www.powercity.ie/?par=40-50-73156 :D

I have a Dyson ten years now and it's still running brilliantly. It does a lot of work in big house.

Wonder will the goblin last long :D

Er, these price drop promotions have been going on for the last couple of years, it's the begining of nothing.

And again, I don't think that Goblin would give any competition to any of the Dysons when it comes to extracting embedded hairs from carpets.

Everyone I know who's said a Dyson is overpriced rubbish has never actually owned one.

Wrong.. Dysons rock if you have one you would never buy anything else.

I'm afraid I have to disagree, I don't think €100 off price promotions have been running for years. I predict Dyson vacuum cleaner products will drop by at least another 50% in the next 12/24 months.

Regarding the Goblin Topo, I don't recommend products I haven't used personally. I've used the Goblin Topo for years, it has perfect performance, it's lightweight and easy to use. It has a permanent re-usable bag so it's cheap to own as well, plus you get a 2 year guarantee, a spare re-usable bag and metal vacuum cleaning tubes. All for about €40, highly recommended. :)

When I got mine I used the price promise at Harvey Normans, they confirmed and gave me an extra €10 off for good will.

Have no idea what I paid but definately a bargain for the quality of the purchase.

Is that price only with the trade in?

I've a dyson I fancy upgrading and that would do the job nicely :)

Disagree all you want, I wouldn't have bought one at the old high prices but I got mine over a year ago now.

I would like to point out as an old fella "they dont make things like they used to "...

Ahhh yes the old Nilfisk now that was a real vacuum cleaner, beloved of chain smoking, batty old cleaning ladies everywhere. Don't mess with this battle axe, or her powerful Nilfisk vacuum.

Wrong i had and owned two, absolute and utter trash. The plastic is very fragile and cracks terribly easily, i spent more time on the phone to Dyson for spare parts (which are priced OTT) than i did using the piece of crap.It couldn't even lift dog,cat hair from the carpet surface.........?

The funny thing is i just impulse bought one of those Numatic Henry Vacums last year and it has worked flawlessly, doesn't loose suction like a Dyson and fall apart.
