Depends whats wrong with the hinge. If there is just a little "play" in it then it should be able to be fixed. below is link to service manual for your laptop. Click on view and click on hinge. It will tell you how to remove the hinge cover

    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1300/en/index.htm

You will then see the two hinges at each side of the laptop at bottom of screen. Move the laptop screen up and down a little and you will see if it is the hinges as there will be a little bit of movement with relation to the hinge and main laptop support. If so then tighten the screws so secure.

You will need a flat head screwdriver and philips screwdriver to do this. Its easy enough, done it myself last month.

Yeah sounds about right, these hinges can loosen over time so just tighten the hinge up and thats it.

let us know if that works

You were bang on chris,it was easier than i thought, they are 2 screw marked "D" on the back, just below where the sceen rests, quick tighten and its perfect.
No need to remove any parts etc.

    Thanks.
