    Hey,
I used to have the tab bar on the bottom of Firefox, but with Firefox 3 it doesn't seem to be working. I enter
/* Display the tabbar at the bottom */

    1. content > tabbox { -moz-box-direction: reverse; }

in to the Chrome as is instructed on the Mozilla site, but it just doesn't work.

    Any ideas?

Yep, that's it thank you. But I can't see how to move the bar down to the bottom. Probably staring at me

    nice one thanks.

was looking for an alternative on the official add-ons page, but there wasn't really anything floating my boat.

it's a pain in the hole that i have to install a load of plugin's to get firefox to do what opera does out of the box just so i can get the feel of it back, but it's also a pain that i have to muck around with opera to get extra things working that either work out of the box in firefox or are easy to install via plugins.

a simple centralised plugin installer like firefox has is something that is sorely needed for opera.

methinks it's time for the two of them to have some babies! :D

Ah yes :) I didn't realise it created a new settings menu under Tools. Thanks very much!

just restarted firefox and it's telling me that that version of tab mix plus is not compatible with my version of firefox (3.0.1 on WinXP) and has disabled it. :(

i use opera myself so i was trying this on v3 of firefox which i hadnt updated, i tested it by updating it and it does indeed disable the plugin.

You'd think they would make it less complicated to move the tab bar to the bottom. I think it's far more practical down there, because it's less movement required when you go from window to window to tab

    exactly.

it's one of the things opera does very well.

it's just a shame they can'#t combine the compatability of firefox with the speed and versatility of opera and get the best of both worlds.

it's actually a little easier in linux (which is scary in itself!), I just have my opera plugins directory set as the one in firefox and what's good for the goose is good for the gander so to speak and all my relevent firefox plugins (flash etc.) seem to work fine in opera too. :)

Make your old plugins work in FF3

    • Type about:config into Firefox's address bar and click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.
    • Right-click anywhere. Choose New>Boolean. Make the name of your new config value extensions.checkCompatibility and set it to false.
    • Make another new boolean pair called extensions.checkUpdateSecurity and set the value to false.
    • Restart Firefox.

    not just "The_Edge" but a Ledge(nd)!

thanks for that, working a treat now. :D

P.S. yes i know there's no D in legend, but it didn't work without. ;)
