    Ok my XPS 1330 only 3 month old is making the wierdest noises! Im trying to load World of Warcraft on it and when I put in the disk the computer just starts making the weirdest noises and the instilation fails. It sounds like the laser in the disk drive just keeps scaning back and forth over the disk inside the computer and it just stops working and the instiation just kicks out.

    So annoying?

    If it does it with other disks, it could be a problem with the drive and you'd want to get it looked at asap if the machine is still in warranty.

    If it just does it with that disk, presumeably theres a problem with it, scratched or dirty etc.

    My M1330's drive won't load any disks, waiting for a replacement now. It makes a crazy noise and never takes the disk fully in the drive, its almost in then spits back out at me. Is that the same thing? Get onto tech support asap and tell them it needs to be replaced, they'll do all they can to wrangle out of getting you a technician because they've outsourced all xps support to india and scotland so they use a different company of technicians to come to your house.
