    Hi All,

I have got some information regarding a company that are going to float on the UK stock market in the coming months.

I am being offered shares in this company at the moment by a company that are agents for the company that intend to float.

    My questions are:

    *Is this normal practice?
*Does it matter which market they trade on, ie: is there 2 stock markets in the UK....an "A" market and a "B" market?
*Has anyone experience of this type of deal, and what was the outcome?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated,

    Slimbo

I assume you have heard of boiler room scams, but if you haven't, read this as a starting point.

    Hi Minder,

Thanks for this, very good(and quite scary) reading.

Thats why I love these boards, they put you straight.

I have since been told by the "agent" that after I purchase my stocks there are some big financial institues coming in to buy stock and I would be able to sell to them before the company floats for a tidy profit and so on......

Thanks for the eyeopener anfd heads up, im definitely steering clear.

    Slimbo:)
