Have the most stickies of any on boards.ie?

Just a thought for a Wednesday morning. I count 9 anyway. Its no big deal or anything but perhaps one sticky for MCD, one for the Charter and one for GAA 'Hot Thread' links (like our soccer friends have) might be the way to go.

    Or something along those lines.

Or of course, we could leave as is alone

Or this post could perhaps be made a sticky?:p

Four of the stickies are for the pools or fantasy GAA competitions, they will be gone when the season is over

As cruiser said, most of them are seasonal ones.

    The rest are required actually

    > Tickets requires a sticky for those who wont read the charter given the ban on tickets etc boardswide.

The rest of the time there's what, 5 stickies? pfft :pac:

Fair nuff. Like I said it was early in the morning, and I was in my 'Here's a good idea' phase for the day. It is a short lived phase. In fact this thread was todays only good idea. Thanks for shooting it down lads :(:(:(:(

We should not do anything the soccer forum do. One can't say boo in that place. A new rule they introduced is that you can't discuss specific games in a club thread. A new thread needs to be started for each individual games.
Insanity what is that all about?????
In the GAA section you can have banter like you might do at a GAA game. In the soccer section.........

    Looks like a sticky situation....

Soln maybe: PS> don't 'whack me':
Maybe a solution might be to have ONE link at the top of the page that directs you to another page where the stickies/important-info is ??

    No.

People wont click thru link just to read the rules imo and experience.

However; *if* the majority feel there are too many and it's cluttered I'll look into a single thread thingy.

As it was put earlier in the thread, 3 of the threads are just seasonal for the championship, so I dont think it causes any great harm to have them up there.

Sorry for bringing it all up

    heh, don't worry about it.

too late for me to undo it regardless so we'll see how it pans out ya know?

I preferred the stickies and not how it is done now. Its a bit more hassle to find the threads, which we will al have to use for the Hurling and Football All Ireland Series. What do others think? If I am in the minority I suppose its fine.

It is better to have the stickies visible and not in a stickies link of their own. There are some good ones there, like the video one, which are handy for newbies to the forum and in particular to the GAA itself. We have a new poster and converted fan in Canada now, who'd probably find those videos very interesting.
