Anyone else having probs with e-mail getting lost or delayed?

Both in work as at home I'm with UTV internet. In work we have our own domain, at home I'm on the .com. In both cases on IE 7.

For quite a while now I have noticed e-mails either getting completely lost or arriving with severe delays of up to 24 hours. This applies to both directions of mail, coming in as well as going out.

UTV technical support can't find anything wrong (all their test mails of course always arrive immediatedly) but I know for definite that it is happening.

Late arriving e-mails display a received time of close to the send time, but only appear in the inbox hours later.

A reported post notification from boards for example just arrived ten minutes ago even though it was reported just after two this afternoon. Notification arrival time on IE is just after the posting time on boards, so it looks correct and I have no hard evidence to beat UTV over the head with.

    Anyone else have this issue?

What needs to be done to rectify this?

Some really important mails in work have gone missing and it's beginning to cost us real money.
