I love my heist movies I do!, I'm just after watching Inside Man, The Bank Job, and Flawless which were all good, with Inside Man especially capturing the key elements of a good heist.

The essentials of this genre usually include an unrobbable bank, with an impeccable plan, which may go wrong, and an added key twist as well.

Front runners in this genre are older films like original The Italian Job, Dog Day Afternoon, The Getaway, The Thomas Crown Affair as well as modern day classics like Heat, Resovoir Dogs and Ocean's 11

So here's to heist movies, and whats your favourite?

Whats a heist movie? is it about the job or is the job just the pretext for the action?
Cos most heist flicks are the latter - very few which are about the job and its preperation.
    Ocean's 11
    Classic? :pac:

Riffifi, Topkapi, Kelly's Heroes, Charley Varrick, The Taking of Pelham 123 (sort of heist film) The Lavender Hill Mob, Bellman and True, Perfect Friday and the daddy of "wtf?" crime movies - The Anderson Tapes

    Mike.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot another Clint classic.

    Riffiffi

    Le Circle Rouge

    Bob Le Flambeur

Much more focused on the preparation and the actual heist itself.

Plus Riffifi has the greatest heist scene ever commited to film.

Lucky bastard... What I'd do to be watching that now instead of being in work! :(
