In the prospectus it said there was a rowing club, there is none unfortunatly.

I rowed with Shannon Rowing Club in Limerick and then went to dcu hoping to continue it on but unfortunatly i was left dissapointed.

Ya i saw that in the prospectus too!!! I rowed at home. i really wanted to get back in to it in college. i was on the IARU website and i saw that DCU are on the list of rowing clubs in ireland. there was an email address for the captain so i emailed him to see is there actually a rowing club or not. I'm sure if there was enough people interested they were set 1 up!!?

Limerick dude are u still in DCU??

You can set up a society or club yourself. All you need is 20 interested people and go up to the clubs and socs office in the hub and they'll help you set it up

i looked into this last year, it was ages ago but no-one has updated.
they do have a sports scholar who rows but dont think he even rows for dcu

what happened in the past was i think people who owned their own boats decided they wanted to compete - dcu dont own any boats, oars or a boathouse

may was well join commercial or neptune or i think ucd is an open club

everyone trains in the same spot on the liffey so its not like theres much difference in gettin to training or anything

O rite!? Is there a rowing club on that river??

I have no idea .. as with most rivers around Dublin I would not set foot in them..

If your deaf for the rowing and want to join a club maybe have a look http://www.iaru.ie/ or even check out the Neptune Rowing Club who are in Islandbridge down the nice end of the Liffy.

I'd join it. Did a bit of rowing ages ago and wouldn't mind taking it up again if there was a club.

I rowed last year in Neptune (I'm taking a year out this year)

I know the Sports Scholar guy who was interested in setting up a Rowing club last year. I don't know if he's going to do it this year but a DCU Rowing Club officially exists but is not currently active...!

You would be rowing from one of the club houses at Islandbridge where there are (possibly) some boats stored but he would know more about that...

PM me if you want - j

I went onto to the iaru website and emailed the supposed guy in charge of dcu rowing club and he emailed me back saying that he will try and get it going againt this year as their seems to be alot of interest.
