Hi does anyone have any tips on organising a childs 1st birthday party. i'm having a bbq etc. for my childs 1st birthday mostly adults probably and one or two children. Even though she won't notice what's going on I'd like to make the place have that childs party feel to it as well instead of just a bbq and get together for the adults.

My nieces first birthday was a few weeks ago. Even though she was the only child there for most of it we had balloons and banners all around the place. It just gave more of a birthday feel to it rather than a gathering of adults.
