    Hey guys,

Just got the crappy weather blues there and really want to head over to thailand for a while... very spur of the moment stuff - good few friends over there atm... basically - does anyone know of a cheap way to get over there (i.e, under a grand return). I dont care how many transfers it takes!

    Cheers
    Simon

Lufthansa have cheap enough flights to Bangkok. I booked a flight earlier for 3 September, one way mind you, but it was only 473.33. A ****ing steal really!

I just booked return flights from end Sept - mid Oct - around €780 with Etihad. They're supposed to be a decent airline too. They were the cheapest I found for that time of year.

If you want really cheap, I'd say go with China Airlines, I know Trailfinders put a lot of their Asian flights with them. However, from reading on the web, the journey certainly may not the most pleasant but I suppose it depends how badly you want to get there!

If you happen to have a mate in London who is willing to go down to Brick Lane to an Indian travel agent and buy your ticket for you then you can fly Biman Bangladesh for around 400-500 euro return. It involves an overnight stopover in Dhaka ( the airline pays for the 'hotel' ). They are not the most comfortable to fly with but you won't find a cheaper fare return to Bangkok than that.

Check out edreams.com and have a look for the cheapest flight. Then check the airlines website and see if you can get it cheaper. If not book with edreams. I know Buffybot doesn't like them but I flew back to Ireland from Manila, The Philippines for €415, which I thought was a bargain.

Someone really should tell Trailfinders about that. Or show them this.
