Speakers on my laptop have stopped working. Had an accident where tea spilled onto the right hand side of the keyboard. Some spilled into the little grill to the right of the enter button.

It wasnt a large amount of tea just a few drops that spilled into it..then again it only takes a few drops to feck it up..lol

There was a crackling sound for a few seconds (about 20) and now its stopped working completely. no crackling sound either...

I can still hear sound if i use headphones...that function works as normal...

Any ideas or diagnosis..? Anybody have experience of this problem and getting it fixed. Any rough price costs..?

Thanks is advance for the help..!! :D

sounds like the speaker is hosed. If you you're anyway handy at soldering you could probably transplant a replacement speaker in. Scout around ebay for an inspiron being sold for parts.
