Hi all im looking for a first lvl technical support role to work full time for a few months and then for a part time basis while I finish my Diploma.

I would prefer a role on the northside of dublin or in the city center.

I have been browsing the main jobs sites I know.

The only three companys that are advertising first level support roles are Steam(east point business park) hp(lexilip) and Ibm(blanchardstown)

I worked for steam previosly and dont want to work for them again.

lexlip is out of the question at the moment and if I would prefer somwhere closer than blanchardstown.

If anyone could advice me of any call centers or companys looking for first level staff that be great.

    cheers in advance

Eircom are based in East point and are always looking for techs for the ISP part of their business. They probably let you go part time if you work full time for a while as well.

Apply to all the local isps with a cv and a brief cover letter.
Staff turn over can be high so chances are there are jobs even if they are not advertised.

    Ice and Digiweb in Blanch
BT is in Grand Canal dock

I am sure the others websites can help you.

There isn't a lot north of the Liffey, most of the tech support roles are west or south.

I had a few friends working for Eircom broadband support in Eastpoint and they all seemed to loathe it.

    hehe
Any of my friends that have worked tech support have hated it and
that was both Eircom and BT. Apparently it is bearable for the first
5/6 months but after that you slowly lose your mind.:p

Would you consider working for any company that outsources?

Oki, IT Force, Version One, It Alliance are just a couple I can think of who provide first level support for other companies.

Well, if you don't mind call centre work (not tech support) "AIB 365" has a big call centre in Swords Airside Business Park. Opened there a few months back.
