Anyone recommend any worthwhile comedy gigs around the second weekend in august, in cork or galway or midlands preferably. Maybe along the lines of des bishop, colin murphy, ed byrne.... well known comedians

Try checking www.comedynight.ie website. This website has listings for the comedians you mention when they are touring in Ireland. Des Bishop and Ed Byrne are in Edinburgh for the Fringe in August so they definately won't be about. Colin Murphy is around though.
