That's a gem of a photograph, absolutely superb. I really like the one of Hunt as well, while being alarmed that Willo is even balder than he was when he was a teenager.....I didn't think that was possible. :o

You just have a great eye, that's obvious. I'll get in to trouble again, but most (not all) of the sports photographs from supposed semi-professionals on this site are utterly devoid of imagination, they just smack of 'set up, take a 1,000 photos and hope one will do'. Yours suggest you actually love taking these shots....and that's the key difference.

What was the score, Dundee United are getting all the glamour friendlies UCD tonight Tolka Rovers on Wednesday and Barcelona next week, nice pics!

    #3 is my favourite.
I feel like heading the ball watching ya man putting in that much effort!

One thing you've gone to town with the saturation in 2 and 3.

No satursation at all, straight from camera and converted from RAW. Colour set to Adobe rgb

UCD won 2-1, Hunt put United in the lead on the half hour heading home a corner.

Dundee are not looking for glamour friendlies, all they want is to get some fooball bsack into the legs.

They trained earlier today in Baldonnel for two hours, then the game, training again tomorrow and Wed morning before playing Tolka Rovers that evening.

Great bunch of blokes and their manager Craig Levein is tops too

Picture number 1 is totally diff to 2 and 3.
I double checked on my lappy and same results.
So are you saying 2 and 3 are the same as #1?

    My monitor is fantastico btw.

From a different camera and lens, first from D200 with an 80-200 while the other two are from D3 (enhanced firmware) and a 300mm 2.8

Dont suppose Noel Hunt managed to get himself injured did he? ;)

Nice shots BTW, keep an eye on Willo Flood, he had a great season with Utd last year, im surprised Cardiff didnt want him back.

I was at this game aswell, the fans were hilarious, the abuse they gave UCDs keeper in the second half was not for sensitive ears.. Some of them were absolutley twisted, was the most activity the UCD stewards have seen in years I would imagine..

Were you working at it Thimble ?

My favourite from the night.. Finish looking through them tomorrow

Look at Shepthe dogs picture, that is fine saturation wise, look at the differences in the grass especially.
I know ya man said he didn't use any sats but their just so bright, esp compared to his 1st pic which funnily enough is a bit on the dark side.
I have no knowledge of adobeRGB but maybe thats why the colour pallete is so different?

Maybe as I've just being informed pm that it's the brightness thats prob the culprit and not the saturation.

..and do you think it acceptable to upload photos copyright of someone else to Imageshack?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,067 ✭✭✭AnimalRights

Apologies, it's late and I being not a photographer for more than 6 months obviously didn't think of copyright.

I have no account at Imageshack just use it for a quick upload for certain pictures.

You are also not comparing like with like.

Different cameras, lenses ISO speeds, angle of sun/light

I actually said I liked your pictures in the 1st place except I said 2 and 3 were too bright, I won't comment on your pictures again!!
Imageshack thing is sorted too, try and link on to it, nothing will appear.

Now gimmie a smile b4 you go to bed. :)
