That would be so lame. And to think, if they'd taken 10 pills each, their eyes would've rolled back and they would've been grand.

thumbs up to the Dethklok likening though :D

This also happens at high altitude climbing, Where at very high altitudes you must wear sunglasses and if you don't, you will burn your retina in less than ten minutes in extremely high altitudes like Everest . However high altitude uv burns are usually temporary and more pronounced, as you will lose your eyesight temporarily, but if treated will regain it after healing.

These laser burns sound different in that the punters didn't realise they eye problems or thought nothing of it, and this lapse in getting treatment -of a day or two - resulted in it being more difficult to treat.

Rave = lasers = Sunglasses= burn free retina

In fairness, you wouldn't be expected to wear sunglasses at a rave as you wouldn't expect lasers with that power being shone into your eyes.

At least they were happy. And anyway, what use are eyes.

Expected; like saftey glasses; completely agree, but obviously it was a stupid mistake by the techs. However; Lots of people wear sunglasses when they go partying. I am sure some lucky punter did.

That's f^cked up, I've stood gawking at a good few displays, you never think stuff like that might happen (especially whilst inebriated)...not too sure how effective even a decent pair of sunnies would have been against a sky display laser's power or wavelengths.
First DJs going deaf and now clubbers going blind...
