Alternatively, are there any software deals available to students?

Hardware: only know of Dell (or Apple :D).

Sofware: don't know if Computer Services have any direct deals with software vendors but you can buy from one of the many online stores offering student discounts. Two come to mind right off:
    • micromail.ie
    • software4students.ie

I got my mac from GalMac. Not sure if they do deals or not but they were cheaper by €200-300 than the place I was looking at in Dublin (I think they didn't include VAT because I was a student or something like that) and they Microsoft stuff on it for free rather than having to pay in Dublin. If that's any help to you.

well if your buying a mac your as well to go to the apple irish website and buy there. i'd wait until a student offer come out though. in the US at the moment there giving an ipod touch with every student purchase. its only a matter of time until it comes out here. but that if you getting a mac. depends on what your studying i guess.

I think the iPod Nano and a Macbook offer is on in the 3G store in Eyre Square. Fairly sure that's what was on the window last time I walked past. Sometimes they do offers with printers as well. Worth keeping an eye on them alright.

the 3G store have been running that promotion for a long time now. i think its independent of apple though.
the one that running in the US is for an ipod touch €299 and you can also receive a €90 printer rebate. so it seems like a great deal.

i'd say it will launch in europe later on Aug/Sept. Id wait as the Macbook/ Macbook Pro lines will be refreshed in sept.
