you won't find any in pubs/bookmakers here. just in a few casino/arcades dotted around the city.

Most towns have an arcade and towns like Bray have loads. I can't recall seeing one in a pub though.

You seem obsessed with Fruit Machines, not in the trade by any chance?

Oh God, I really, genuinely hope that the fruit-machine-in-pub craze doesn't start over here...

AFAIK they are illegal to be on bookmakers premises but that could be changing in the near future....

heaven forbid someone would gamble in a bookmakers.

waste of money imho. they have a payout of about 60%, the only people who make money out of them are the owners.

Galway's on the west of Ireland... But if you're over that direction, there's bound to be somewhere in Salthill you'd find them machines.

Also, Tramore in Waterford (southwest) may have a few places.

There's a casino type place (not sure if you'd call it a casino) on O'Connell Street in Dub... Same side as the GPO, a few doors up from Spar I think. Check that out too...

a lot of the arcades in bray have closed down in recent years. there's one on the albert walk, not sure if there's any left on the seafront (Dawsons closed recently).

big difference also, as the ones you see here are the casino type machines and not the same ones you have in UK pubs and bookies, ie not machines with feature runs and going red etc... they're like the arcade ones with just bar, doble bar, triple bar etc... and the new casino ones.

But anyway, for the moment they are for all intents and purposes illegal, although this might change in the future (but only for casinos iirc)
