    Hi
Need a few tips and advice please. I'm heading away for a long weekend in October to either Sweden( Stockholm) or Denmark ( Copenhagan). Its a straight choice between the two.

I'm just wondering which city is the best to visit in regards to sightseeing, food and drink prices etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can't vouch for Copenhagen as I haven't been but Stockholm is just fantastic. It's so beautiful, stylish and cool. Great bars, beautiful people. Yes drink is expensive but everything else is on a par with, if not cheaper than, Ireland. I'd highly recommend it. Found the area of Sodermalm really funky, quite similar to some areas in East Berlin. Loved it!!

Havn't been to Sweden but have been to Copenhagen. I found it very expensive for food and drink (noticably dearer than say Dublin) but we met loads of Swedish people who took a ferry down for the weekend 'to take advantage of the cheaper drink' !.
Plenty to see and do in Copenhagen over a weekend (Tivoli, Christiana, Little Mermaid) so if its a straight choice between the two I'd pick Copenhagen.

I have been to both, and preferred Stockolm. The Vasa Museum, Skansken Park, and the Old Town beat the Tivoli and the Little Mermaid in my book. Add to that the islands for people like me who love water.

Both are expensive, but I thought Stockholm a little more affordable for food. I don't drink enough for the price of drink to be an issue, and I can't compare.

But either makes for a good weekend.

I've been to both and I can safely confirm that they are both beautiful but very expensive cities. I preferred Stockholm because I thought there was more to do there and see there but Copenhagen has its own charm and both are really quite similar in many ways (maybe it’s just a Scandinavian thing ;)). If I really had to pick one I'd probably go for Stockholm.

    Another vote for Stockholm.
Search this forum as plenty of past posts on it.

Ive been to both, definitely would recommend stockholm. Both are expensive but stockholm is definitely the richer and more vibrant city. I found Copenhagen to be old, tired and full of homeless people.
