    Hi there,
Would anybody be able to tell me anything about the ACI traders qualifaction. Somebody at work recently mentioned it as being a good course but I dont know him too well and would rather not go back and ask him what he knows about it. (he's quite senior and i dont want to seem like an eejit!). I have googled it and it seems its run by a South African university and theres a site called examready.com that seem to run the exams but they require your passport number to register for course detail so im a bit skeptical.
Has anybody done this course? I'm changing to a new role in treasury and could do with a bit more understanding of how markets work.
Would anybody recommend other courses they have done? I'm qualified ACCA.

If you are junior in the trading environment it is worthwhile doing, not necessary for the qualification itself (altho' it wont hurt if you were moving jobs) but rather that it structures your learning for you (ie) you will learn all the theory around fx, fx arbitrage, interest rate futures etc. There is also a follow up diploma but this is not as popular (as it is pretty intensive)

Whats the best preparation for a career in trading? I've heard many people say "you're either a trader or you're not" but surely there is something that prepares you at least moderately well?

Appetite and willingness to learn. That is the key. Most of the traders I know just learned it by doing it
