    Hi All,

Over the past few days I've noticed my laptop is continually making those noises it makes when its trying to do something, like install a program or whatever. The thing is I'm not doing anything as demanding as installing a program, even when I just leave it there it still makes these noises. There starting to get louder aswell.

I've checked the backround tasks and nothing out of the ordinary is running, does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Its a Dell 1710 w/ 2g RAM and 1.66 dual core processor running on Vista.

I'm gonna go back some stuff up now, I feel the end is nigh...:(

    Is it hotter then usual?

Do the noises sound like the fans spinning or the hard drive ticking?

No it doesn't seem to be any hotter then usual, all though it does get quite hot. Its strange, its like its grumbling at me constantly.
