I have told the story loads of times to many of my friends about the origin of Apres Match . An event I remember clearly in my head , although it might bear little or no resemblance to fact . I remember seeing the guy doing Frank Stapleton with Jack Charlton and the "I'll pick who I want if I like" but if I remember correctly there was one before it with Frank Stapleton doing the "is this the best team never to go to the world cup " .

My question is : does anyone else remember this and can anyone locate it on tinternet .

btw link to the first one I mentioned http://youtube.com/watch?v=ahJbjpBfQQY

Pretty sure that the program was called the The End. Barry Murphy used to present it one of the two nights a week that it was on. Not sure where you could get footage. (If in fact it was The End.)

Slightly related. Any one know the precise words or does a clip exist of Bill O'Herlihy (in 2002 or 2004?) saying to Giles, Dunphy at half time "I have to say guys, I do like watching Totti". Or something very similar. The producer on the night was game and replayed it in the microcompilation of the nights highlightsthat played as the credits rolled. Havnt seen it since.

Frank used to have a cardboard box on his head in the early days on The End! You can see some early stuff on the Après Match 1994-2004 DVD. "We'll be right back after these messages" :D

@Sandwich, I don't know where you can find that clip, but reading your post almost made me spit my coffee over the monitor!
