Richard Jenkins (the dad from TV's 'Six Feet Under') stars in this film as a lonely college professor whose wife has died. He visits New York to attend a conference and discovers that a couple have been staying in his apartment. Instead of kicking them out, he lets them stay and becomes friends with them.

I won't give away anymore about the plot. Just go and see it for yourself. It's written and directed by Thomas McCarthy who made the Station Agent a few years ago, and it's just as good.

One of the best films I've seen this year. Jenkins is excellent. It'd be a shame if this got buried by all the big Summer blockbusters.

    Highly recommended.

I found it very enjoyable all round. The acting was quite good but especially Richard Jenkins who really stood out in the film. I haven't seen The Station Agent but I will try to check it out now.

I saw it last night. Good film, but maybe a little too preachy. It's wierd to see a film where all the characters are really sympathetic.

Actually yeah, I kinda raised an eyebrow to his rant in the office but it didn't take anything away from the film in all.

Yup really liked it too. Its a deciptively simple film, with easy to relate to characters and an interesting message. Wrote a more detailed review here, but definitely a small and refreshing alternative for the summer.
