What's a Full Metal Mayhem match? Sounds like it has loads of weapons. Loads of weapons plus Kurt Angle could be a bad situation

I'm completely out of the loop with TNA. I think I watched their last PPV but the only thing I can remember from it was Angle vs AJ. Apart from that I've seen five minutes of Impact featuring a horrible Joe and Nash segment where Joe looked like a bully

Who's in the Ultimate X match?

TLC from what Rhino says above. The World X-Cup Elimination will feature three men from each team so I presume the other four will be in Ultimate X. The World X-Cup has been awesome in the last few weeks.

Its interesting giving Taylor the Knockout title, she did play the underdog very well and did get the crowd behind her but I suppose this is where the Fan Challenge was going.

Rhino said: "You Fans might know it as TLC.. But we here at TNA know it as Full Metal Mayhem!!"
Maybe he should have said. We cant use the name TLC due to copyright so we will use FMM instead :p

Really looking forward to this PPV, there's not one bad match on the card. Iv watched impact the last 2 weeks and Its been a mixed bag. 2 weeks ago storm and rude put over mcm in the first segment of the show only to be put into the main event V Joe and Nash, with Tenay and West trying to make them sound credible for the rest of the show. The verdict is still out on bookers new gimmik.
Taylor put on a good match against Kong last week, the ending was believable, however I find her voice incerdibly annoying and her promos are lack luster. The X cup is great, Doug Williams was very impressive against Yoshino. At 35 its wonder what kept him of TV for so long. Yoshino is incredibly talented but just too small for american audiences. He made Williams look great and his speed is phenominal.

If anybody happens to be on the internet at 1am please do vote for Full Metal Mayhem on TNAwrestling.com, no one wants to see Tables or Falls Count Anywhere, I hope.

They will rig it for that outcome as that is the one they want. I hope Angle doesnt cripple himself tonight.

I'd say thats the outcome that they'll get anyway, it was the one pushed hardest on TV and normally fans vote that way (see first TNA live Impact, where Booker said I want Roodes blood and fans voted First Blood).

Or the run up to every Cyber Sunday/Taboo Tuesday. Wrestling fans are easily lead.

I watched the main event earlier. Can anyone shed some light as to what the bloody hell was going on? Why were they trying to stop Joe beating down Booker? What is Stings game? Why did Sharmell make the count? Is Booker champion.

Quite honestly it seemed like the most ridiculous clusterf I have ever seen. Thing is, is that it was actually quite a decent match before the ridiculousness commenced.

They were in Booker's hometown so they booked him as the face for the match. But none of it made sense anyway. Booker looked very weak with Sharmell begging Joe to stop beating him during a match. Joe didn't come across as a face at all. And Sting, a face, was helping out a heel. And they're doing the belt stealing thing again

It was a very very frustrating PPV. Some of the matches were brilliant and the Main Event was shaping up well until the end. What happened was Joe asked Nash to stay at the back regardless of what happened. The commentary team kept reminding everyone that Sting was returning at the PPV. Joe was brutalising Booker and kicked the tar out of his brother (?) as well. Made Booker look very weak. Then Sting comes in to try and convince Joe to end the match and pin him. Joe refuses and eventually gives the finger to Sting who beats him down. Booker then goes for the pin and it is counted by SHarmell after Joe, the face, beat the crap out of the referees. And Booker's win has now been considered official. Very Very confusing.

On the otherside, Petey Williams and Kaz had a match near the start of impact that is very much worth watching

They booked Booker as the face and made the point that Joe could whoop Booker ass.

    Impact
On Impact, they teased a Sting heel turn and re-established Joe as a face and Booker as a heel.

And gimmick, they obviously wanted to leave you with all those questions and make you watch Impact to find the answers, thus the point of ending the PPV in a controversial manner. They are hardly going to give you the answers the second something happens.

But it was eally poorly booked. Booker was cutting semi-heelish/semi-facish promos. They made him out to be really good for Houston but not a good man which was confusing and the beat down that they gave Booker made him look extremely extremely weak. Joe talked with Sting for around 3 minutes and Booker still couldn't get up.

And then Cornette reversed the decision, Joe told Booker to keep the belt and then Booker defended it. It was unbelievably confusing but the matches were good and like I said, Kaz and Petey had a match on Impact that is definitely worth watching

Great counters in that Kaz/Petey match. They made it out that Booker is the most important thing to ever hit Houston and I don't think that was officially stated as a title match.

Well in the interview before the match both the interviewee and Consequences were under the impression it was, the commentary team was and Booker said that just like something something in Rocky III he was going to give this kid a chance at the title so I'm pretty sure it was a title match.

Ahhh, but Dave Penzer didn't announce it as a World title match and the graphic was never shown(as it always is in TNA).

By the sounds of it I'd be willing to bet that Bubs wasn't the only one confused. Why do that?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

    True. Impact
But at least Creed didn't win, that would have caused a lot more confusion.

But surely that kind of mentality risks having the opposite effect as people could simply become so frustrated with what goes on that they think, 'to hell with this'.

As I understand it, Booker didn't officially beat Joe but Joe is content to allow Booker carry his belt?

Makes absolutely no sense to me. And are they seriously going to try turning Sting heel? Such an idea flopped many moons ago and I can't see it working in 2008.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

If they actually turn Sting heel I'll eat my hat, my guess is that they're only teasing. Do people care that much about whether it was a title match between Creed and Booker? And Joe didn't want to be handed his title back, he wanted to take it back.
