What are your favourite wrestling carry jobs?

Taker, Angle and Hbk are widely regarded by many of being able to get a good match out of anybody no matter how mediocre the opponent happens to be. Taker made Batista a wrestler I don’t rate look like a star at Mania last years and Michaels done something which MVP and Kennedy failed to do last year, he got an amazing match out of Ric Flair. What other carry jobs do fellow board members remember that impressed them at the time?

Bret Hart, Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels all for the same reason, they made that useless lump, Davey Boy Smith look like he could wrestle from 1992-1996! As awesome as the Bulldogs were as a team, when Davey came back to singles in 1990, he was bloody awful!

I don't know does it count a carry, but people only really sat up and took notice of MVP after his match with Chris Benoit at Mania last year. He has been having good matches since.

HHH does not get enough praise for getting good matches out of fellas. he got a few decent runs out of Batista long before Taker tried. FFS, he even did a decent job with the cripple Steiner in his run in WWE in 2003/4. He also made Cena look a million bucks for the first time at Mania.

And for all his detractors, Cena, pre injury anyway at least, got some decent effort out of lugs like Khali and Umaga.

Outside of WWE, the best carrier,and for my money the best wrestler in the business today (separate argument altogether) is Bryan Danielson. No such thing as an opponent looking bad or weak with him.

those steiner/hhh matches were awful

angle carrying lesnar at mania 19 is one, foley carrying taker in matches in 1996, i can't remember even a half decent match taker was in pre-foley

angle/cena at no mercy 03 was a far better match than HHH/cena at mania 22 in fact the triple threat with edge one month later was better than the mania match if i remember correctly. Cena had a great "i quit" match with jbl too sometime after winning the title in 2005.

Haven't seen that match in years. I used to have it on tape. It was brilliant. Right around the time Cena was starting to get big babyface pops as a heel.

Savage carrying Warrior to probably his greatest ever match at WM7 stands out in my mind. It still holds up well today.

Another one Eddie made JBL look a genuine threat and creditable main eventer when they wrestled in 2004.
