Print media lagging behind on teh internet?

This is something I've thought about before, and was hoping for some opinions here. Basically is it a given that newspapers and (non tech orientated) magazines lag deperately behind on issues involving the net? I think I read somewhere recently about this great new think called facebook. And here's and article (on an article) on how the xbox 360 occasionally breaks-shock! Anyone familiar with the internet would know about these things for a long time, and afaik most journalists would use the internet for research, etc, so why are they so behind the times?

hyperlinks for sourcing have trumped print for years, see how bad print media is that when they do have websites they don't use hyperlinks for their articles?!

"Print media lagging behind on teh internet?"

At least, print media are still using sub-editors.

I believe that was a deliberate use of the word teh

Roffles thank you lostexpectation. and tbh windowcleaner, those sub editors seem to be less interested in doing their jobs with every passing day, but thats a different thread...

I think it's relevant here to mention that the charter has been amended to reference the correction or criticism of spelling/grammatical mistakes within the forum.

Windowcleaner and others who tend to see it as relevant to criticise someone's minor spelling/grammatical errors on a thread that has nothing to do with spelling or grammar should take note of it.

    Now, back on topic.

On topic then, do you think that the print media can at times be very behind online sources, and do you think there could be negative implications because of this?

well your examples were specialist vs mainstreams really rather then net vs print.
