Foreskin Irritation (and finding a new Doc)

Embarrassed even though I'm posting as unregistered!

The inside of my foreskin and part of the head of my penis is red and itchy. "raw" I guess is the word. I won't notice anything for a minute then I'll get a sudden wave of itchiness. Noticed it early yesterday and has been annoying me alot since.

I'm not sexually active so it isn't an STI or anything. (phew) No idea what else it could be though?? I'm generally hygienic!

I've tried non chemically moisturizers like shea butter but nothing seems to have helped.

I just moved into a new area and my old GP is a long way away so no idea where to start even looking for a new doctor to go to? Should I just find one in the golden pages and call up? Do they need all my personal history etc or can I just go along? Would I have to explain to a receptionist what my "problem" is?

Any Doctor will tell you exactly what he thinks it is within 10 seconds.
You don't have to tell anyone about it other than the Doctor.

It's probably something to do with hygiene though and a simple cream
should sort it out for you. But if it is not going away then ask a Doctor
because some hygiene (bacterial) stuff can become worse if left
    untreated.
