Dubrovnik for long weekend?

I'm considering heading to Dubrovnik for the August bank holiday weekend. Flying direct on Aer Lingus would have me arriving at 11.45 on Friday and departing at 12.40 on Monday.

Is this too short a trip to make it worthwhile? I'd like to stick to Dubrovnik, visit the town my grandmother was from (about 20 kms north of Dubrovnik) and perhaps have some time to relax on the beach/poolside.

This would be my first trip to Croatia and the flights aren't particular cheap (€425 all in), so I'd rather not come back feeling as though I crammed too much in.

    Thoughts??
