Yep the scarecrow one caught my eye too.
What direction is the light source from? The light is so diffuse I can not make out the pattern of the shadows. Love shot.

    Hi Borderox,

Can I ask you how you achieve the look on the first image. The colour is washed out but at the same time somewhat intense. How do you go about achieving this? Is it completely done in the likes of photoshop or is it 50% at the time of shooting and 50% post processing?

The scarecrow is done probably as you say 50% from the subject and when I shoot it I have it in my head what it should look like and the other 50% is using the 300 preset in Lightroom to give this washed out/vignette look to the shot. Seemed to suit the shot too. I shot is with a 1dmk3 and a 70-200 f2.8 IS @ 200mm and 1/50th sec f2.8 with the IS on. The Harry Byrnes shot was @ 1/8th of a second and IS on, so you can see it comes in handy at times. :)

Thanks man. I must go off and try to create this look in some images. Can I achieve that look in photoshop or would I need to purchase lightroom? I have to say I know nothing about it but hear everyone talking about.

/heads off to google Lightroom. Back in my day there was just photoshop!

I am sure you can recreate it just handier in Lightroom, I think it suits dark subjects similar to the other shot I have done with it.
