ZoneAlarm Blocking Internet/email Access Stumped

This has me stumped. I downloaded an automatic windows update last night and let it restart. When i got up this morning i had no internet access.

At this stage i didnt know what was wrong, IE FF and OE all wouldnt work. I pinged the modem and it replied. I pinged google.ie and i got a reply so i disabled ZoneAlarm and everything worked.

I checked all the files and all programs were set to allow on Zonealarm. I tried completely deleting the programs from zone alarm and they still wouldnt work as i was expecting it to prompt for access, it didnt and just opened IE and timed out.

I also have another computer networked and sharing Internet Aceess and its the same, i have to disable Zone Alarm for it to work. Both of these were working fine before the windows update. The 2nd pcs zonealarm hasnt had an update in ages whereas the one on the main pc is up to date so its not an issue with a zonealarm update.

Is there a way to see what the last windows update was, or is there like a tcp/ip program or something similar that needs to be allowed access. Any ideas?

Both pcs are running XP btw
