    blaise.ducheminATfree.fr

That email is listed on the site to send any details of technical issues you may have encountered having visited the site.

If it is not a contact for the admin, I'm sure it can point you in the right direction.

    Notice on Munsterfans:

Munsterfans.com is momentarily closed as it has been compromised by a Database attack.

Nothing dramatic but we think it is preferable to take the site off line until we finish cleaning it up. In the meantime you can visit http://www.dolanspub.com/forum or http://leinsterfans.com/ where you will probably bump into a few familiar faces.

Furthermore, if any of you has expertise in MSSQL issues write to blaise.duchemin@free.fr a little bit of help will be appreciated and will help get the site back online ASAP.

Just chatting to one of mod's of munsterfans there. They hope to use this downtime to sort out some of the glitches that have been bugging the site for the past few months. With a bit of luck this will be a positive moment for the site.

That is the email of Ozoyo, the founder of the site.

Whats the story with Munster fans website, I use it. Is it a profit making site?? I dont know much behind the scenes... There seems to be **** loads of mods on it, it nearly feels like there the ones making all the chat! That said I really enjoy the site and look at it nearly everyday while in work!!!

Nope, all for free, no profits.

There is too many mods imo, but the mod I know explained that a lot of the mod's are close to inactive but are there for various reasons, some who designed the site etc but rarely post, there's only a handful of mod's who actually post regularly.

Anyhow, I'll let you know if I hear anything about it re-opening.

Re the OP, was the site actually infecting PCs or was the AV program detecting the site as a problem?

Personally I wasn't so worried as I have scripts disabled plus I am on a mac. Just thought I would inform people.

I'm one of the moderators on the munsterfans site.

We have been having problems since last week due to a malicious SQL Injection attack on our database. We have been working frantically since then to remove the issue and I am happy to report that we are nearly there and should be back in action soon.

From what we can make out the data we have points to Cyprus. However what motive a person has to attack a social site is beyond me.

ffs, you serious? That's bizzare. Why would you attack one specific site like that? Coincidence or same person again, who knows. Never understood why someone would do that sh*t though, would the "buzz" from it even be worth all the hassle? Twats.

Talk about a Ospreys fan taking it to heart ^^

But in all seriousness what the hell do you gain from attacking a rugby forum:confused:

You can be sure that it wasn't one site. More like hundreds of high-traffic sites in that day alone.

    But WHY?

PHPBB (which I assume they're using) is very prone to SQL injection attacks if not fully patched, and even then there are exploits. I think in a lot of cases 1)its just people being assholes and 2)some hackers use it as a way to learn how to become assholes ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,980 ✭✭✭✭phog

It's back up and running. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

Are they even using the latest version of PHPbb....from what i've heard all of these forum type software need to be constantly upgraded to avoid exploits
