Time Capsule

    Anyone every try opening ports for torrent applications use the TC as a router? I have had no luck so far. I have a BT modem.

    Using Transmission on the mac and uTorrent on the pc.

    You mean Time Capsule. I don't have one but I assume if it's the same as AEBS you go: Airport Utility > Manual Setup > Internet button > NAT > Configure port mappings. Have you done this? You'll have to open the same ports in your BT modem as well of course.

    I assume the BT device is acting as a router (not a bridge)?

    Have you got the opened ports pointed at the right IP addresses? The open ports on the Time Capsule should point to your Mac's IP and the ports on the BT should point to the Time Capsule's IP.
