    OP maybe be a bit more specific as to what you want explained? Anything in particular you're having trouble with? Observation is so broad i could go on for pages.

    It's the difference between seeing and looking. You can be pointing your eyes out the windscreen but not see any relevant information.

    Observation is the skill you develop as you learn which things you should be looking at. Your examiner and other road users will feel you have good observation based on how you react to what you are seeing.

    For example cars parked on left and you "see" a child running on the footpath.
    Poor observation, continue making progress.
    Good observation, expect the child to do something like dart between the parked cars... adjust speed and road position to suit.
