Chorus-NTL blocking SIP?

Has anyone noticed that chorus NTL appear to be periodically blocking port 5060?

I'm an NTL/Blueface user and have been very happily using blueface for the last two years now. A while ago NTL updated my cable router to support VOIP and have been calling me to offer a phone service. Since that time my blueface connection has been operating only sporadically. When this happens I can't even telnet out over port 5060 even though everything else about my internet connection seems fine. Has anyone else noticed this?

    Thanks for any info.

I also use Blueface on UPC 20Mb, and I have never had a problem with it. Saying that, I only make a couple of calls a day so I might not have noticed a short interuption or two. My ATA has a light to indicate comms with the voip provider, it's green when connected, and flashes orange when there is a problem. It's always green except for about 30 seconds after the odd time I reboot the cable modem.

I've been using it for a week or 2 and haven't noticed any problems.

This could be the router trying to provide a SIP ALG service and messing with the SIP packets.

I use NTL and have not seen the problem yet myself, but I know that Blueface via Magnet users should contact Magnet and request that the disable the App Level Gateway on the router for sure. Maybe NTL are rolling out a new firmware with the 20Mb upgrades that provides this feature.

    Cheers,
