    re: Contractural Question ...

I recently started a new employment and their is 3month probation period ...

Just wondered whether people think it commenced the date i first worked as has been back-dated and mentioned in the contract (and signed by the G.M.) or from when i received; ratified and signed-off on the contract (also signed and dated the same date as me by my line-manager)? Their is a difference of 3weeks between both dates.

Don't know whether i should raise the issue so soon if it's going by when i and my line-manager signed and dated it
but if it goes by when the G.M. signed and back-dated the contract then i should raise it or bring it up in conversation soon ... so just seeking your thoughts and knowledge

Ask your line manager to clarify this. As always be nice and polite :)

someone will clarify what I say from an HR perspective but my understanding is that the start of your probationary period is the date they ask you to start work (unless told differently in writing), irrespective of when they get you to sign the contract.
